SNEAK PEAK OF MY POEM BOOK

Updated: Oct 3, 2021

PAINFUL

Painful seeing your lips being somebody else’s

Painful pointing out all the ways that I was selfish

Painful thoughts lead to hyperventilation. Helpless.

Painful to be hit with memories that make the welts split.

Loves so painful. Pains me to be the menace.

Smiles turn into grimace.

Tear drops with every sentence.

Pains me to be the apprentice

Of pain exertion, it’s relentless.

As they say business is business.

I’ll gladly work for forgiveness.

I’ll gladly tell you I’m in this.

I’m madly missing your kisses.

They fade away the wishes.

Break away like falling dishes.

The pain throbs. It’s so vicious.

The same sobs make their visits.

The rain knocks. Handles twisted.

The doorknobs reveal my gremlins.

No hoorahs for the pain I’m feeling.

Need new jaws. Ate away the ceiling

To this house of pain. Sunshine the building.

A SPACE STORY

Everyone sat on their lawns

The sky turned black and we knew to respond

We hopped in our rockets and flew to beyond.

We hovered above Earth. Only stars were upon.

Planets everywhere. Now how do we bond?

With gunfire and bombs?

Seek moons and some ponds?

Favorite dishes from Mom?

Sweet tunes and some songs?

Drum to conundrums or run to the randoms?

Thumbs on the buttons of all our cameras.

This wonderous place. The wonders of space.

The tongues of our face have hunger for taste.

We looked back at the Earth. From here it’s a pawn.

We hear whistling comets from our cozy futons.

Mother Earth, it’s time for you to enjoy the salon.

Re-beautify again from our needs and our wants.

THE RAIN DROP

Two different people came across the same rain drop.

One immediately scared and stuck, the other didn’t bother to stop.

One felt it was too much pressure and so that person fled.

But the rain drop consumed them when it touched their forehead.

They drowned from the drip. They swore it was a storm.

Their mindset couldn’t let their bravery perform.

The other person didn’t even feel the drop fall from the sky.

And if they did feel it at all, they wouldn’t spend too much time wondering why.

The rain drop is subjective. We have no say when the rain drops roll.

Life is perspective. Our mindset is what we control.

Kind of like one person yells at a barista when an ingredient wasn’t remembered.

While one person knows it’s a luxury to pay for coffee out of a blender.
