FAT LOSS GOALS DON'T NEED A TIMELINE

I don't recommend putting a timeline on your weight loss goal. It's unnecessary pressure. It's not a race.

I never have a convo with my clients about a date to reach x amount of pounds. I do however ask what their goal is and I give the honest answer of what kind of commitment and work it will take for it.

I'm more worried about habits and consistency and their mindset about the process.

I get it, we see these hyped up headlines and drastic numbers all around the internet and advertising;

"Lose 15 pounds in 30 days!"

"Shred and burn fat FAST!"

"How I lost 3 dress sizes in 8 weeks!"

Goals are good to have because they keep you accountable and can aid in consistency, but fat loss isn't a game of speed.

You want this to be a lifestyle to where you're building a solid foundation of habits that teach you sustainable methods.

Fat loss is a slow process with moments of fast results and habits that allow you to keep your weight off forever.

Make that the goal.

When summer comes around, everyone wants to get into the best shape for that bikini and beach figure, but what if we didn't cram that kind of thinking and process on ourselves and focused on daily, simple activities like eating in a calorie deficit and working out?

Goals seem way longer than they actually are when we become impatient and greatly underestimate the work and consistency.

I have fitness conversations or see conversations with people every week who have goals that will literally take 6, 8, 15, 24 months to achieve which is FINE! :)

I'm big on having people to not get up in the timeline, but to get focused on the consistency. The work. The love of the journey.

What do you think? Tell me your thoughts!
